An Engraved Tribute to a U.S. Air Force Pilot
The Fourth of July is a celebration of American independence. Today's photos are dedicated to our country and our service men and women.
Every person who has served in uniform has a unique story. Family members commissioned this engraved Kimber pistol for Captain Chad James, an F15C "Eagle" fighter pilot currently serving in the U.S. Air Force. The engraver is Christian DeCamillis of Traverse City, Michigan.
DeCamillis describes this engraving as "fantasy" style for its flowing blend of several different art elements. On the top of the slide a likeness of the F15 aircraft transitions into an eagle; this was chosen because the F15 is also called the Eagle. Every element has personal meaning to Captain James from his service and personal life. The includes his call sign "UnCL", two of his squadron emblems, jump wings, Air Force pilot's wings, and a MiG-29 flight. The three individual stars are for his and his wife's three children.
Have a great Fourth of July holiday with your family and friends.
