Beautiful Firearms Style Bracelets
Weldon Lister, an active member on the iGraver
forums and a talented
hammer-and-chisel engraver, knows
good advice when he hears
it. While attending the 2007
Grand Masters Program with instructor Winston
Churchill, Weldon took some of Winston's wisdom to heart: remember
the jewelry market, and don't
overlook it in favor of strictly
engraving firearms.
The bracelets featured here are just a few of the many exquisite
jewelry pieces Weldon has engraved.
To start out he uses a 6" x
12" sheet of 14 gauge silver, sawing individual strips out
by hand. Then after shaping the
ends and smoothing the edges
using a belt sander, Weldon fixes
the flat blank strip of silver
into his workholding material
and begins engraving. He buffs
carefully, avoiding the engraving,
and finishes the bracelet by
bending it with the
GRS Metal Former.
"My goal has been to make one of a kind cuff bracelets embellished
with firearms style engraving," Weldon told GRS. "This
gives folks who might never have a firearm engraved a chance to wear
some art done in that style. It also gives engraving aficionados
(and their significant others) a chance to wear some engraving instead
of keeping it locked safely away where no one else can enjoy it."
Weldon has these and other pieces of his fine hand engraved work
featured on his website www.weldonlister.com. Check out more of his
work in his online gallery and browse the "For Sale" section
