Comparing Rubies to Cherries
Many artistic endeavors spring from the well of gratitude. A handmade work of art carries with it the time and effort of the artist. This intrinsic quality adds even more value for the person who deserves such a gift.
This plate, engraved by Jake Newell, includes the name "Sayler" below a cherry tree filled with rubies. The Sayler family has shown many a kindness to Newell, who created this plate as a present for them. The family owns a cherry orchard that has been in the family for years, so Newell decided to honor their family business and name with a custom engraving.
For the cherries, he used small natural red rubies. These small but valuable stones represent the value the Sayler family has found in their own small red cherries. The stones sprinkle in little dots of color on the stainless steel canvas, which measures approximately 4" x 7" (10.16 cm x 17.78 cm).
