Love What You Do, Do What You Love

The statement "Love What You Do, Do What You Love" sums up the personal philosophy of one engraver who has been doing what he loves for over thirty years. Kit Carson is an Arizona-born artist whose eclectic jewelry style is attractive and unique.

Carson's flair for desert-inspired designs has led him to create pieces of jewelry like the ones shown here. He combines metal engraving with original handmade productions using sterling silver and 18K / 22K gold. To enhance his design and engraving skills, Carson frequently uses all-natural stones and cabochons.

The beauty of the Western landscape lends much inspiration to Carson's award-winning work. “My endless inspiration is found in the rich palette of nature in the desert. Cactus bones, thunderheads, and stones, lizards and quail, rabbits and ravens. I saw a flying rabbit framed over a golden cactus against a turquoise sky. Inspired, I rushed back to my work bench, a happy guy.”

Kit Carson currently produces his beautiful handmade jewelry in his Arizona studio Cactus Camp. Learn more about Carson on his website kitcarsonjewelry.com and browse through his gallery of other custom jewelry pieces.
