Silver Bracelets (Part 3)
Once you learn Western Bright Cut engraving, you can turn a flat piece of silver into a
sparkling bracelet, or a blank metal oval into a unique belt buckle. In cowboy country like Montana or Texas, Western style engraving is a recognized
favorite with collectors and customers.
This silver bracelet, engraved by Texan Johny Weyerts, is a beautiful piece that
clearly shows his nice Western engraving style before the bracelet is formed into shape
(using, for example, a GRS Metal Former #004-725). This bracelet includes typical Western engraving elements: smooth and crisp bright cuts,
artful use of a multi-line graver, and accent wriggle lines . . . all blended into a flowing design.
Accomplished Western engravers, like other metal engravers, often develop a recognizable style.
This is and should be a goal of each engraving artist because it adds uniqueness and helps build a client base for their work.
