Micro-Pavé by Jura
There are extraordinary jewelers and stone setters
who have the talent and ambition to push
the field of stone setting and jewelry making
to new levels. Russian-born Jura is one of them.
These photos show a
ring that is made from 5-sided solid white gold wire. With stones as
small as 0.5mm, the term pavé is
an inadequate description; it’s more accurate to say that Jura micro-pavéd
each of the five sides with diamonds. The
result is stunning, graceful, and delicate.
Jura, a 2007 Featured Guest Instructor at
the GRS Training Center, has had an amazing blend of careers and interests.
He has worked professionally as a Petrochemical Engineer, a musician
and music teacher, and now as a world-renowned stone setter. Recently,
he started a new company Diaset located not
far from where he lives in the Netherlands.
Jura will teach an Advanced Micro-Pavé Course at the GRS Training Center
June 18 – 22, 2007. For more information about Jura and his beautiful work,
visit his website Diaset to view incredible macro photos of his work and designs.
Tools used: GRS GraverMax, GRS MicroBlock vise, NSK micromotor and stereo microscope.
