Explore Different Art
A great way to add more fun, and if you are a professional engraver, to also broaden your client base is to embrace different artistic themes. This stainless steel tag (GRS part 003-301) can be used as a key chain or a pendant. When a tribal art design is used instead of more traditional scroll designs, it instantly changes the result and appeal.

This particular effort is unique not only in design, but in execution. The beveled flat graver cuts and stippled treatment result in a design that appears almost raised out of the metal. It is balanced, bold and yet not overly complicated. The red stone adds a nice extra touch and contrast.

Designs such as this are readily available from many sources including tattoo art books. Try something really different from your current artistic practices and see what happens.

Tools used: GraverMach and Monarch handpiece, flat graver, point graver and stipple tool.
