Ralph Bone's Tools
Ralph Bone, a respected engraver, stock maker, gunsmith and teacher,
passed away in late 2006 at the age of 77. He will always be remembered
as an extraordinary craftsman and artist, as well as a kind, humble person.
Ralph
was generous with his time and readily shared his talent with a
multitude of others interested in the fine skills he knew so well. He
won many awards in his lifetime, including the "GRS Award
for Artistic Uniqueness in Engraving Design, Style and Subject Matter"
at the 2006 FEGA Convention.
The Featured Photo, taken a few years earlier in his studio, shows Ralph
doing what he dearly loved – engraving. Additional photos show some of
his hand engraving tools, including three chasing hammers and gravers.
Close-ups of Ralph's tools hint at the expertise of a man who will be
missed by those who knew him.
