Scrolls, scrolls, and more scrolls. New engraving students come up against these mysteriously created and beautifully demonstrated design elements all the time.

With numbers of styles in the wide world of scroll history, it can be hard to keep track of names and origins. Although this is very important as you progress as an engraver, sometimes it is good to just admire some nice scrollwork. The open and lively scrolls on this firearm part are done by English engraver Marcus Hunt. It is always good to study and practice scrollwork like this, but remember to use the elements of the scrolls to create your own designs. Keep your gravers sharp!
