Jean Santos of France is a hobby knifemaker and engraver. Like Tira Mitchell's titanium ring featured in August, Santos has anodized these beautiful pendants to give them a bit of color.
Santos made these pendants as a gift for his dentist and her assistant for the diamond and carbide burs they provide for his hobbies. Santos was inspired by Utamaro’s wooden prints, which are part of the Spaulding Collection at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. For his engraving work, he uses traditional tools such as a burin and chasing hammer.
For his knifemaking, Santos has used the same method on titanium pieces to add color. If you are interested in exactly how Jean Santos gets these brilliant pops of color, read his Titanium Anodizing Tutorial tip on the iGraver forum.
