Loyd Freeman, a GRS Tools customer from Georgia, enjoys his time engraving pieces like this neat belt buckle shown here.
Freeman has engraved this nickel-silver belt buckle with a beautiful and balanced ornamental design, filled with leaves, vines, and even a standing griffin. The design he has executed here provides a complex visual effect on this simple buckle.
As for the engraving technique, the final result gives not only a neat visual effect but also a physical texture to the removed background. Freeman has used lines for the torch and removed the background for the rest of the design. Removing the background and blackening it in gives the design a velvety-soft look in person and is a good choice for contrasting against the cold, hard metal of the buckle.
