Vlastik Peták is a multi-talented artist living and working in the Czech Republic. He engraves, paints, carves wood, and sculpts. Vlastik purposely embraces both traditional and new engraving techniques in his work. He loves to learn new things.
His work you see here is an unusual and wonderful combination of engraving styles on a single firearm. It includes bulino scene work, deep relief, scroll, fine shading, sculpted engraving, and multi-color gold inlay. This piece blends traditional designs with stylized, almost modern backgrounds that seem somewhat art deco inspired. It all works beautifully and creates an engraving that can appeal to a wide range of people.
Vlastik uses traditional hand gravers, chasing hammers and likes his GraverMax with Airtact hand control. You can learn more about him and his work by visiting his website: engraverpetak.com.
