For some engravers, Airtact simply provides a comfortable and natural way to hand engrave with pneumatic tools. For Seth Becker, it allows him the freedom to engrave easily using his hands.

Seth Becker of Conrad, Montana, has been engraving for three years now — ever since he saw an engraved bit at a leather show in Wyoming. Because he cannot use the foot control of a standard engraving system, Seth has learned to engrave with the Airtact system. At his home shop he currently uses an Airtact with a GraverMach and two GRS handpieces.

This lovely sterling silver piece really shows off his talent. The pendant features Western Bright Cut engraving and three CZs set down the center. Becker created this piece to work on stone setting and get more experience. With his warm and cheerful personality, his enthusiasm for engraving and learning more of the art shows through immediately.

Becker engraves as a hobby and has gotten pretty good at it over the past few years. He has attended several GRSTC courses to help speed up the learning process, including a Shotgun Engraving course with Rex Pedersen, and most recently he added the bulino technique to his skill set. Seth Becker is a great example of how GRS can provide the tools and knowledge to succeed — like Seth, all you need is your passion.
