Martin Strolz, who will teach at the 2009 Fifth Annual Grand Masters Program, has been an engraver almost his entire life. Starting out with the basic tools even before he could drive legally in his home country of Austria, this talented master has a substantial and elegant portfolio of work.

The works shown here are just a few of the beautiful pieces he has completed over his career as an engraver. Strolz commands a variety of scroll styles with fine execution, and works golden elements into his designs flawlessly. From the careful, quick turns in an English scroll to the graceful leaves that bring life to a vine, his mastery of this art is undeniable.
